I live just outside Cuanjo and Patzcuaro and go to both quite often. Maybe you were there during siesta? Normally most of the shops are open but quite a few close during mid afternoon. Another good village to visit next time is Capula. Lots of lovely pottery and tile. I am glad you got to visit our area.
